The Satellite Station – “Running”-I appreciate the energy of this recording. It’s the kind of track that just soothes the soul in its own way. The chill guitar work sets the stage for a quality lead vocal. The full composition feels like a …
Hard Working Indie Weekend Jams
Alexa Rose – “Like A Child” This North Carolina songstress has an incredible sound that beautifully embodies the heart of true country and Americana. Sharing the stage with the likes of Jessica Lea Mayfield and The Wild Reeds, Rose is due for her …
The Voice’s Alexa Cappelli Excites with Upcoming EP
We don’t normally cover larger-outlet type artists, but when I heard these two introductory tracks from Alexa Cappelli’s new EP, I knew I had to do something! Now, I admittedly don’t watch much of The Voice… (Which I think may shock some) so, …
New Music Round Up – some of the best in folk, singer songwriter, and indie pop – August 2019
Joe Dolman – “Happy for you”-Dolman has been one of the biggest surprises of 2019 for me. His songwriting feels really fresh. There’s a crisp pop energy to the music at times, yet I don’t feel like it’s derivative or mocking any previous …

The Titos – “Better Day”-This sounds like you just put your parents album collection on the record player and found a deep cut from a great 70s band. I can’t quite figure out which specific 70s rock band the Titos sound like, but …
Featured Single: Motherfolk – “Kill the Sun”
The energy of Motherfolk’s indie rock writing is unmatched. I love the dynamic style here with the guitars and an infectiously good lead vocal. I can’t help but sing along when I hear this track. It makes me want to party all night …
Singer songwriters in the vein of Jackson Browne
Gideon Brown – “Lose My Way”-Brown’s style is reminscent of the 60s, bringing an energy that we rarely hear these days. The thoughtful, introspective lyrics feel familiar. The overall piece is delightfully unique compared to so much of the new music out today. …
