Rob Quo – “Keep Your Distance”
We feel lucky to have found UK songwriter Rob Quo this week. He has everything we could want in an artist. Vocally, he is compelling in a way that croons directly to our burdened heart. We were reminded a little of Mason Jennings in how he pronounces words. If you know us, this is high praise. Musically, it is stripped back but still very compelling. There is an equal emotion and lullaby in his playing. It is almost dream inducing, which complements the lyrics.
While both vocally and musically there is plenty to love, many will find his lyrics deeply compelling. His talent, while plenty, is perfectly captured in the way he crafts a tune that is both relevant and emotive. Yes, it could easily be placed into the socially distant era with it’s title, but beyond that is an artist who is striving to be better while protecting those around him. If you love fantastic songwriters, then Rob Quo is a must hear.
