Mr. Gnome – “Not This Time, Devil”
Living in Ohio, we are biased for this incredible two piece. They have steadily crafted tight and intriguing music for years and have recently broken through to a larger and deserving audience. On “Not This Time, Devil” the act showcase what us Clevelanders already know. The upbeat rock track fits perfectly on any rock playlist but also has a vocal quality that will impress. Mr. Gnome is an act that expands the limits of rock. They are creative and some times a little avant garde but no one can question their work ethic or authenticity and in this current world, this means everything.
Buddy Wynkoop – “Stress Fracture”
Yes, we cover this act a lot but only because our mission is to expose as many people as possible to their incredible post punk energy. Weird but accessible, they are one of the most interesting acts we have heard in recent years. Part IDLES and part DEVO, they blend influences both past and present to absolutely compel listeners to pay attention. “Better than Botox” is their much anticipated debut LP and one you need to experience. While many complain of the staleness of the current rock scene, Buddy Wynkoop is showing an exciting new possibility of creation.
