Three alt rock tracks to bring some energy to your week

Red Light Camera – “Round the Corner”
-When I try to explain to people the type of rock I typically enjoy, it’s a sound a lot like this. There has to be a core rock n’ roll energy, even if the song includes some unconventional flourishes along the way. It’s important that I can understand the lyrics which, in this case, are both energetic and a bit on the flirty side. The dynamic rhythmic structure keeps the song moving. The combination of the eclectic guitar mix and the relatable lyrics make for a fun track that feels like it’s ripe to get a crowd going at a festival.

Vilhelm Buchaus – “Snow in the Summer”
-Sitting here on a very summer day in the US, the thought of snow today is unfathomable. Which, I think, is exactly the point of this lyrical construct. This is a wonderfully up tempo pop rock anthem with soaring vocals that impressed me from first listen. The lyric, “like a landslide in my heart” feels just right. It’s a song about the complexity of feeling out of place. It’s a dynamic track that’s sure to win over a lot of fans for Vilhelm Buchaus. The vocals alone are worth checking out the song, but the whole performance is outstanding.

Saint Social – “Don’t Let the Fire Die”
-I love the full chords in the opening of this song. It’s a satisfying sound and a great way to introduce the listener to the song. Once the lyrically driven section begins, it pulls the listener in even deeper. “Clap your hands til you feel alright. Get up and dance til you know you’re alive. Don’t let the fire die!” This is a survival anthem. If you’re dealing with trauma, pain, or fear from you life this is the song that will keep you moving forward. I love the positive vibes of this song about the power of moving forward. It’s danceable and celebratory with a ton of energy that turns pain into dancing.
