Buddy Wynkoop – “Zugzwang”
We love this act and have championed them a lot recently. Growing up near Kent, Ohio, we are extremely familiar with the likes of weird legends DEVO. So it makes sense we love this modern take on a classically weird act. The post punk art act have powerful lyrics that range from existential to uplifting. They are a multi dimensional act that we believe many fans will respect if not sincerely love.
Youth Sector – “Here Comes The Fear”
Here is another throwback act. Youth Sector is an act we have loved covering through the years and with their latest effort, the UK rockers are at their absolute best. The act would fit right into the ’80’s pop scene while still being incredibly present and modern. We love the energetic “Here Comes the Fear” which is one of their most accessible tracks. The art rockers have further fine tuned their already incredible sound and we think their fanbase will continue to expand.
Rose Hotel – “Fruit Tree”
A newer act we recently discovered, Rose Hotel is absolutely alluring. In sound, they have a perfectly deliberate pace that leans into garage rock and psych while still staying grounded. Vocally, “Fruit Tree” is sultry and biting. The act describe themselves as “Lynchian” (as in David Lynch) and we cannot argue with this. They obviously have a lot of different influences that vary widely, but the end result is incredibly fun and compelling.
