A Classic Post Turkey Playlist: Compelling Artists for All to Enjoy

Tom A. Smith “Fading Away”

When Sir Elton John says you are going to be a “big star”, you’re in a pretty good place in your career. Garnering praise from John as well as publications like NME, has become standard fare for the UK songwriter. What we like from the young artist is his blend of sounds. From piano ballad, to searing rock, Smith confidently through genres like only the young can. He has a mass appeal while still being a deeply authentic artist. We look forward to hearing more.

Jenny XII – “Open Up to Me”

“Open Up to Me” is a proper groover. The bass line carries a Death Cab style track that floats through our earbuds. The dreamy track is from Colorado experimental three piece Jenny XII. We like how the act take their time, intentionally building a stunner of a cut. Vocally it carries like another instrument in their repertoire. The act have a lot of talent and we are beyond excited to share them with you.

Lucy McWilliams – “Plastic”

This Irish songwriter is compelling. Her ability to tell a captivating story is beyond her mere 23 years on this planet. She has an intimate and sweet vocal range which contrasts nicely to her haunting delivery and lyrical base. The electric guitar parts show a slow burning rock edge that we love as well. “Plastic” showcases a multi talented artist ready for an ascent.

Deadset – “Bleak”

We absolutely love a bit of Post Punk. Our new favorite act is UK rockers Deadset, who shine on their latest effort “Bleak”. They embody the brooding style that makes the genre one of our favorites. Their maturity and fuzzed out guitars remind us of Mewithoutyou. Vocally they are hauntingly classic, reminiscent of a more forbidding Arctic Monkeys. The bass spots are dark and intriguing. Regardless if you dig post punk, you are sure to respect this one and love the emotional roller coaster they ride to a near combustible climax.
