Great Named Bands With a Classic Indie Sound

Bug Button – “No Guilt

Regardless of being a Texas collective, Bug Button thrive in what they call the Midwestern Emo style. Quintessentially indie, the act are carried by lovely instrumentation and emotive vocals. Their upcoming EP is an exploration of relationships and what if’s. Their sound remind us of some of our favorite throwback acts and we think listeners of all genres cannot help but feeling dipped in a sonic nostalgia the band thrives in.

Justice Cow – “Waiting for a Haunting”
We like the gentle sway on this one. Their ability to craft a soft but poignant track is beautiful. “Waiting for a Haunting” is about the songwriter’s loss of her father and strong desire to see him again. The sound fully represents those inward emotions with an indie rock feel. We like the way the artist builds a slow burning but unresolved style, just like death. The restraint and heart here are unmatched and very appreciated.

Blonde Bones – “Hold On (Dumb Country”

The indie psych sound of Blonde Bones is incredibly warm, tinged with ’70’s vibes. “Hold On (Dumb Country)” has a nice tempo, perfect for summer drives. Their ability to let the track roll, while not getting too lost, is a strength that serves the act well. Showcasing their sonic talent, every instrument pops on this one and even surprises in places. We might have found our first great summer playlist track.
