Reclining Nude – “She’s So American”
Reclining Nude has some of the coolest vibes we have heard recently. Their smoky New York confidence drives quickly throughout the stellar track. It is a little difficult to classify their sound, which is why we love the act. With that said, we definitely hear some post punk and garage rock remnants. Perhaps the difference and talent in this act is their ability to write a complete earworm that transcends labels like “She’s So American”.
Radio Free Alice – “Paris is Gone”
We love the urgency in this act’s sound. Vocally, it feels a little unhinged and the guitars throb with a near combustible edge. Luckily, the band slows it down in spots before launching into a nice groove. The Aussie act create a tight and angular tune that is also criminally short. “Paris is Gone” represents both the city, as well as a burned out love. The track is a creative expression by a young and talented act.
Youth Sector – “Benign Fire in a Small Room”
We seem to love everything this act does. On their latest Killers esque track, “Benign Fire in a Small Room”, Youth Sector land in an evocative sound space. While expecting a little more post punk from the act, we were pleasantly impressed with their latest expression. Every sound and vocal part soar and build to a satisfying climax. The band are high on chemistry and talent. We cannot get enough of their impressive sound.
