Three indie rock tracks to energize your midweek

Honest Men – “Stuck!”
-If you’re looking for an up tempo indie rock track with some killer vocals and an engaging beat, check out Honest Men “Stuck!” There are some glowing synth elements that are sure to capture the attention of a lot of listeners. The guitars come across with an almost pop punk type of energy to them. More than anything, though, I love the way the different parts of the track come together for a cohesive and engaging approach. This is definitely a high level of music production with some quality connection points. Give it a spin and feel the movement.

The Mayhaps – “Otherside”
-When it comes to indie rock, you’d be hard pressed to find a more quintessential band than The Mayhaps. Everything from the quality of the lead vocal to the energy of the guitars feel perfect for the genre. The harmonies on the chorus work well on this track. It’s a sound that feels like it takes the best of 90s alt rock elements and gives them a fresh, 21st century polish. The lyrical theme is about life after a break up when you go your separate ways. The energy is infectious and the lyrics are relatable. This one really stands out from the crowd.

Plastic Birds – “Looking at you”
-There’s a groove to this track that absolutely cools the air. It’s about that moment when you meet someone and you’re both looking at each other with desire. The vocal harmonies and chilled out guitars work well together, making for a relaxing mood for the track. Personally, I’ve never been able to be this cool when making eyes at someone, so in that way the lyrics are not AT ALL relatable (kidding, sort of). Yet, there’s an energy to the track that feels vaguely like the 60s with some contemporary production elements that really make the sound resonate well. The combination of these forces create a song that has all the right vibes and will be a welcome addition to your indie rock playlist.
