Jenny Kern – “Run”
Okay, so Jenny Kern is not necessarily “new” to us. Nevertheless, her music continues to get more compelling with every release. On “Run”, the artist shows an incredibly mature alt-pop style we did not see coming. In an already impressive catalogue, “Run” might be her best work. Capturing a tight sound – layered and textured – her vocals are subtle and emotive. Though the artist has loads of talent for building tracks without specific genre boundaries, we were reminded of recent Haim releases in how they both make us feel. If you are not hip to Jenny Kern, you need to be.
