Reed Gaines – “The Weather”
We love the style of songwriter Reed Gaines. His skill is found in crafting an atmosphere and mood that invites listeners into a thoughtful and warm sonic space. On “The Weather”, Gaines shows a seasoned subtlety while still crafting a textured sound. While difficult to classify, we do know that we love his sound deeply. Look for more emotive tracks coming out soon.
Henny Lane – “Creamy Fog”
This is the third track we have had the opportunity to cover from Henny Lane. With every release, we are stunned with his ability to build a groove. His soulful vocals add allure, but almost are an afterthought with his intriguing arrangement. “Creamy Fog” is a personal track as the songwriter expresses thoughts about his “struggels with my chronic pain disease (Fibromialgia) and the mantal illness that comes along with it“. If you dig acts like Alt-J and Minus the Bear, then we really think you’ll love someone who has personally, became one of our favorite artists recently.
C. James – “Losing”
The dreamy California style of James is something you need to hear. We were immediately reminded of some of Dan Auerbach’s solo work on “Losing”. It has a really cool groove to it that will resonate with many listeners. The soul elements and lo fi production captures both imaginations, as well as hearts. We were really taken aback by this young artist’s sound, and believe it may just be what your 2020 needs.
