Rose Brokenshire – “Maybe We’re Just Tired”

In the ever complicated time we live in, the music of Toronto songwriter Rose Brokenshire is a much needed balm for battered minds. The relevantly titled “Maybe We’re Just Tired”, is a rich expression of style and texture which impressed us on many levels. A natural musician, Brokenshire brings the folk background she has been richly steeped in, to a more lo-fi bedroom style that releases a breezy life giving expression of talent and possibilities. We were reminded of some of the quirky optimism found in the music of Regina Spektor, while carrying a spirit reminiscent of Sade. When we find music like that of Rose Brokenshire, we are reminded why we started Ear to the Ground, and in these perilous times, they help to lighten our collective burden.

Rose Brokenshire has plans to release a 6-song visual album in the fall of 2020, and a friend-filled studio album in the spring of 2021.
