The Flops: Rock to Save the Planet

Allow us to re-introduce you to our new favorite rock act. Virginia founded, and New York raised, The Flops are everything you want in a rock band. Swagger, blues infused riffs, tight band chemistry and technical precision, and a complete rock vocal croon. The young act has it all. Recently we covered the aptly titled “Fuck the Morning” and loved every moment. Yet, “Dead Man” may be our favorite in their short but hard-lived career.

What their newest single reminds us of, besides some of our favorite acts past and present, is live music itself (oh how we miss this). One of the many strengths of the band is how they bring the listener into a gritty garage rock sound, crackling with energy and band chemistry. Yes, it is a produced single, but it still captures the spirit of a live band. There is no way else to say it, those who wrongly believe that rock is dead need only to look at The Flops for a resounding proof that it is alive; perhaps as good ever.
