Evenson – “SOS”
There is something immediately enthralling about the sound of the young Haitian songwriter Evenson. His worldly sound is creative and expansive, while his vocals are soaring and affecting. On his new track, “SOS”, we hear an artist who is due for well-earned love from critics and picky music fans alike. The beat picks up as the track proceeds, but lyrically we were struck by the life/death lyrics. Evenson is an artist that plays in many genres and this reveals his immense talent. On past tracks, we have heard inklings of a newer more matured Coldplay sound, and this one has a similar bent with a blend of the likes of Kid Cudi. Socially conscious and painfully relevant, he may be one of the most compelling acts we have came across recently.
