The music of the songwriter known as Amos the Kid has became more relevant during the last few months. The introspective songwriter’s sound is filled with yearning and loneliness, while capturing a moment in time.
“The themes of this record seem to have come to life these past few weeks,” says Adam Fuhr (House of Wonders label). “There’s this yearning for big communal moments, a loneliness. These are things that we’re all feeling.”
The solitude that was with the artist in his youth, has beautifully informed his music which is elegantly emotive and expressive. “Mountain View”, the title track off his new EP, burns with a melancholy similar to the likes of Modest Mouse. Despite the themes, the album is a collaboration with some of the most known indie from Winnipeg where the artist works. The entirety of the creative process is intentional, and like the sound, very textured and impressive.
