Two Incredibly Emotive Artists You NEED To Hear

Simen Mitlid – “This Time”

This is one of those tracks that make sense of the world. It rushes in your earbuds with a refreshing breeze of introspective beauty this world so desperately needs. The young talent from Os, Norway creates lush and rich downtempo tracks that occupy similar ground to Bon Iver and a more laid back Washed Out. His ’15 EP, While We Wait, is a fitting introduction to his talent and captured the attention of many insiders. For the new album Everything is the Same, Mitlid recorded in meaningful locales like a hometown cabin, and the sound of the space creeps out in his sound. Magical, soothing, and endearingly optimistic, this is a must listen for the world-weary music fan.

Rebecka Reinhard – “Pisces”

This is another gem of a track. The Swedish artist has been performing since she was fourteen, often gigging in basements, bars, and everywhere in between, often found in London and Paris living rooms. She is able to craft delicate and personal tracks in a manner that would make Angel Olsen proud. Recently she recruited a band to had another element to her sound, with the hopes of continued touring. The talent of Reinhard is that she is able to seamlessly bounce between styles and moods in a way that great songwriters can. Her style is a shear joy of all things great about singer songwriters.
