Tubefreeks – “Whisper”
We don’t cover a whole lot of harder rock, but we are definitely not opposed to it. When we do however, you can rest assure that it is pretty good. This Maryland band has everything we look for when covering the genre. Traditional rock vocals that tread on Ozzy territory, relentless guitar, and thumping drums and bass that make you want to raise the devil horns. This is a definite guilty pleasure of ours and we appreciate the mix of grunge and metal. This track can be found on the acts third album The Dry Tide. Check out their timeless sound and look for them on tour in the US. Bravo – “Everytime”
Speaking of genres we don’t typically cover . . . Bravo breaks our mold for what we typically cover. The beat and ease in which he spits rhymes is at the top of the game. Any artists who can name-drop both Optimus Prime and Nolan Ryan in the same rap immediately earns our respect. If you dig artists like Drake and Travis Scott, then look no further than this confident young artist. I have listened to this track a dozen times and it simply just gets better with each listen. Haus “Say What You Say”
This track grabs your attention immediately with its spoken word accompanied by rainy streets. The band has a knack for authentically working through the bigger issues of life while providing a beat to bob to. This will be the refreshing theme of their new EP that is soon to be released. The band says this about the track: We wanted to capture London, and how eclectic it is as a place. All the different people, they’re all just as important as the person next to them. There is just so many stories contained in just one street, one market, one pub, one corner. So many varied background, millions of childhoods, adulthoods, all united in their communities, our community. We wanted to highlight the importance of hearing and sharing our stories and how powerful that can be, how it can breed empathy and unify us, and how there is a rebellion in itself, in a world so concerned with dividing us. People need to stand up for themselves, be true to themselves. If you don’t like you what you’re doing with your life, try do something else. You can make changes, even if they start small. Speak up about what you believe is right. We are all capable of doing something special in this life. From day one the majority of us are told not to follow our dreams. Rise above it, do what makes you happy.” [youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UP_0sVRaBI]
