Frank Turner – The Third Three Years

2015 will be another busy year in the life of UK punk folk icon Frank Turner. Fresh off his latest full-length Tape Deck Heart, Turner is releasing a new Butch Walker produced album this year, releasing his first book documenting his tireless touring across the globe (1,216 shows and counting) The Road Beneath My Feet, and currently promoting the March release of The Third Three Years. This release is an exciting mix of rarities, re-workings, and covers of artists such as Queen (“Somebody to Love”), Tom Petty (“American Girl”), and Bruce Springsteen (“Born to Run”). The 21 track is a must have for those devoted to his brand of honest road worn songs of life and truth. For those new to Turner, you will be well served to first listen to his standard catalog such as Love Ire & Song and England Keep My Bones before diving into these tracks from the path less taken. Always a fun and energetic showman, Frank Turner makes genuine and thoughtful music without forsaking humor and irony. Check out his rather stellar release here.
