Expressive Emerging Rock Acts

Tell – “Shoelaces”

We like the easy going math rock style here. The instrumentation floats on, beautifully soundtracking the spring season. The act’s new album is due out this summer and if “Shoelaces” is any indication, listeners could have a nice quintessential indie summer album. The act keep it simple, but still create a lush sound that draws us in.

Supergloom – “Old Friend”

We get old school Queens of the Stone Age vibes on this one. Supergloom has a classic rock approach, and it is on full display with “Old Friend”. The four piece LA act have loads of expressive talent, further enhanced by Smashing Pumpkins guitarist Jeff Schroeder’s production. Lyrically, it is an existential tale of finding the true self. We love this act and are excited to hear more as they break out in the months to follow.

Aaronson – “The Great Swells That Carry Us Will Pull Us Under”

These UK rockers brilliantly craft a near perfect post rock sound. With “The Great Swells That Carry Us Will Pull Us Under“, they cement their place with the masters of the art. Starting with a sweeping sonic smattering of beauty, the act pull back in favor of a more meditative approach before ultimately rising again. When it comes to instrumental tracks, we are fairly stingy with our coverage. However, if it all sounded like Aaronson, we would be totally bought in every single time.
