Favorite Creative and Unique Songwriters

Anna Jordan – “Willing”

We have little hope for anyone who does not immediately love this artist. Her vocals are incredibly comforting, while her instrumentation is emotive. Her folk rock leaning is just right, even bringing in an electric guitar to show her ability to craft soul stirring pieces of indie gold. She has recently released a solid EP, but “Willing” shows the artist in a time of prolific growth. We think the PA songwriter has some incredible tunes to come.

Elliott Blaufuss – “Ain’t Worth Nothin”

The music of Blaufuss reminds me of Andrew Bird. Both artists are able to bring smiles with quirky storytelling one moment, while breaking hearts with the very next chord change. Typically, I do not cover a lot in this space, but I know great songwriting when I hear it. There are some solid and tight folk instrumentation here. We think our readers, especially the ones who rely on us to curate the sharpest folk and americana artists, will find their new favorite songwriter in Elliott Blaufuss.

Sam Krüger – “Halfway Home” (Acoustic)

There is an honest intimate quality in the tracks of Krüger. Writing in his home bedroom, and recording with limited fuss, gives it a deeply resonate feel we are absolutely smitten with. “Halfway Home” crackles with nostalgia and a longing for simpler times. I was reminded of my own childhood and my own little boy. The art and beauty in this one is that of a time traveler as well as an artist who can slow down time. His vocals are unexpected in spots, but his croon is utterly captivating. We are honored to be able to share artists like Sam Krüger.
