Jed and the Valentine – “Pitching Stones”
-If you’re a fan of folk music, you’ll find a lot to like with the jangly banjo work on this track. But if you’re like me, then you’ll *love* the quality of the vocal blending on this track. It’s a wonderful bit of songwriting. The lyric about looking for something “bigger than you” resonates well. It’s ultimately about getting older, yet still enjoying pitching stones. I interpret that to being about holding onto the things we’ve always enjoyed, the things that bring us true joy. It’s a hearty, up tempo folk song that puts me in mind of the fabulous Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes (horn solo included). It’s a good one.
