Three new folk pop songs that allow for meaningful introspection including the next hit from Camryn Quinlan!

Camryn Quinlan – “Light of Day”
-There’s a sweet, bluesy character to both the guitar and vocal that I really enjoy. The vibrato in the vocal here even feels a bit on the soul side. The combination of all of these elements come together for a beautiful sound. “You walked in as the darkness was leaving and now I see the light of day.” Given the gospel elements in the instrumentation, I’m not sure if this is a song about a romantic partner or a spiritual connection, but nevertheless the song carries a peacefulness to it that I’m happy to support. The organ and piano carry a lot of weight on this one; it’s a great song for a wide range of fans and I hope it does extremely well.

LAHAYE – “I used to be happy”
-If you’re someone who likes to sit with and process emotions, this song is certainly a reflection of that experience. The calm acoustic guitar compliments the chill vocal style nicely. I love the way the soundscape grows with the “used to be happy” line at the beginning of the chorus. It’s a track about seeking love and acceptance from someone. The layered vocals and production style on the chorus and bridge are both really well done. This is definitely an introspective track that’s perfect for fans of folk and/or indie pop. I’m glad to support it here.

Gregor Coleman – “Funny Things”
-Fans of upbeat folk artists in the vein of Stu Larsen will find a lot to like in this new track from Gregor Coleman. The tempo is certainly toe-tappingly enjoyable. The lyrics are thoughtful, reflecting back on a relationship that “all went wrong.” There’s a hopeful, joyful energy to the sentiment that “better days are coming.” It’s sweet and we all need someone in our lives who can point us to this type of hopeful future together. It’s definitely a song that will get you moving complete with some delightful folk instrumentation.
