Three alt rock tracks that will make you feel like the coolest kid in your group of friends

The Convertibles – “Last October”
-There’s something satisfyingly raw about this track. I don’t say that as an insult to the production, though, because it is actually quite polished. But the desperation in the vocal mixed with the attitude at the center of the track just makes it feel… raw. I appreciate the true indie rock vibes of this song. The spirit of the lyrics are about sobriety and we’re definitely happy to support a message like that. It’s such a fascinating mix of visceral emotion with this chilled out rock polish and I love the combination. I hope you all will give it a spin!

Bad Wrong – “TBH 200”
-If you’re a punk fan of a certain age, this sound will feel quite familiar. It’s a vibe that seems like it would have shot to the top of the charts alongside Blink182 back in the early 2000s. We’re definitely still here for it, though. If you have ever been put in the position of being “just a friend,” then you’ll relate to the anger and language used in the song. It’s a song about jealousy and heartache, but it feels quite raw and accessible for the listener. The power chords and vocals are really solid, making it an excellent example of pop punk that still shakes the venue in the 2020s.

Orangepit! – “Surrender”
-If you click play on this song, you’re going to hear some excellent electric guitar that feels quintessentially rock n’ roll. However, if you keep listening, you’ll hear a shift to a waltz timing section that will feel more like some of our Americana coverage. And to be frank, I’m here for it. The shifting mood of this track is part of what I love about it. The guitars are so clear and expressive, they function as a separate voice in the composition. It feels more like a duet between the vocalist and the solo guitar as it does a full rock band track. The harmonics on the chorus are absolutely divine. This is the perfect track to share with your friends who don’t understand how rock music can actually be beautiful.
