Three contemplative acoustic tracks that will have you taking a moment to meditate

Tyler Edwards – “Since You Came Around”
-If you’ve ever had your world rocked by someone entering your life, this song will be lyrically relatable. To be honest, I found it a wonderful track for the balance of the ethereal instrumentation and the accessible lyrics. There’s a lightness to the composition that matches the lyric, “dancing around this feeling 10 feet off the ground.” If you’ve ever felt lighter after meeting someone, this song is definitely going to connect. The bouncing between atmospheric pop elements with grounded folk instruments makes for a delightfully unexpected mix. This is a beautiful listening experience.

Salt Tree – “Take My Hand”
-If you’ve ever put yourself “out there” and hoped that someone would take your hand and go with you, this song will be relatable. It’s a wonderful piece of acoustic songwriting that’s good as a solo contribution, but when the duo vocals enter it moves to something truly special. The production on the track is also outstanding. This is the kind of folk music that I’ve loved for most of my life… it has life, light, and energy that I find a boon to my soul. The handclaps and group singing energy makes it feel like the early 2000s Mumford and Sons records, which is certainly a good place to be musically.

Beatrix – “Tie Your Shoes”
-From the moment I clicked play on this song, I thought it reminded me of theatre music. There’s something about the swaying rhythm and the chord choices that feels like vintage mid-20th century classics like Rogers and Hammerstein. I love the way the delicate vocal harmonies make the lyrical lines pop with an extra kiss of sensuality. It’s a calm, romantic, engaging piece of songwriting and an exquisite performance that I’m more than happy to feature here. I’m going to take a small leap here and say that fans of artists like Dodie Clark are going to adore Beatrix and the delicate composition of this track.
