Three exciting new folk pop songs you’ll want to add to your summertime playlist

Abby Webster – “Entertainers”
-Sometimes you find a song that combines genres in just the perfect way. That’s what happens for me when I listen to this song. The beautiful blending of country elements with folk and singer songwriter styles makes for a really special piece of songwriting. “No heroes, just wild flowers.” The lyrical concept is about the importance of having people to entertain and make you feel human. Something about Webster’s voice feels timeless in yet another blending of classic folk with elements of roots country. It’s a song with a range of welcome sounds that work together well.

Delilah Brao – “Not Angry Anymore”
-This is a song about having moved on and the power that you feel once you’ve stopped being angry about a breakup. There’s a bouncy energy at the heart of the song that makes it feel light despite the heavy energy of the message. The emotional core of the song is challenging, but the way the artist has clearly worked to deal with the situation is inspiring. The lyrics are relatable to anyone who has had to take time to heal from a broken relationship. The instrumentation and style fits well with the style of indie pop we feature, so we’re happy to have it here on our site.

Daniel Daniel – “T Y L O”
-There’s an understated energy to the acoustic guitar in the opening of this song that’s sure to capture the imagination of a lot of our readership. The orchestral elements of the track take it to a place that’s a bit more cinematic and emotional than the typical folk we cover; that said, it really works here. If you’re wondering about the title, it’s a short form of “turn your light on.” It’s about cultivating an openness and a connection for the relationship. It’s ultimately a love song with elements of folk, pop, and orchestral elements that are sure to find a following. It’s a great tune.
