Three brand new tracks with a good old fashioned sound

Montana Sand – “The Great Divide”
-There’s a jangle to this track that I really appreciate. The vocal comes through with clarity and charm. The lyrics have a nice connection to natural beauty and geography. The jangling banjo is probably my favorite part. It’s nice to have a poppy folk tune with some hints of bluegrass as a way to set the mood for a chill old fashioned playlist.

New Family Dog – “Trouble”
-If you’re looking for a throwback Americana sound, give this track from New Family Dog a spin. It reminds me a bit of the ramblin’ New Orleans storytelling brand of folk. The story has relatable characters and a sweet overall mood. It’s the kind of tune that gives you a half smile because it’s about that kind of trouble. It makes you want to have a drink with a friend and maybe show off some of those dance moves. I’m not sure if “charming” is exactly the right word, but it’s how it feels to me.

Brittany Ann Tranbaugh – “Bushwick”
-I’ve covered Brittany Ann Tranbaugh in the past, so I was thrilled to see her name in the submissions again and let me tell you… this might be the best one yet. Tranbaugh sings with her whole heart. The melody on this song is one of the most beautiful I’ve heard in a long time. The storyline pulls the listener right in and it’s so, so tender. The emotions of the piece make the listener feel an overwhelming warmth. I can’t think of a better word than that. This song… is a hidden gem. Please enjoy and share it.
