Tinsley – “Distract Me”
-If you’re a fan of pop rock, you’ve come to the right place. Tinsley has a palatable sound that allows the listener to follow every lyric. There’s a vocal purity to the sound that really appeals to me on this one. I appreciate the depth that emerges on the first chorus, allowing an already-rich sound to unfold into something with even more substance. If you’ve ever wanted to have someone totally take over your interest, causing a feeling of infatuation and all-encompassing pursuit, then this song will be relatable. It’s got a fun little genre blend of pop rock with a bit of art folk; it’s an invigorating and creative style.
Sleeping Together – “Daisy (Marc Jacobs)”
-This is a song about perfume. It’s also a song about love. It’s a quintessential example of pop rock done right. I appreciate how clear the lyrics come through on this recording. I’m sure that fans of early 2000s rock music in the vein of Everclear and Fountains of Wayne will find a lot to like about this sound. I appreciate the snappy, engaging energy to the sound. If you’re looking for a love song with a lighter pop rock vibe to it, definitely spin this one. It’s perfect for a pop rock playlist.
Dashiell Le Francis – “The Undertow”
-If you’re looking for a rock sound that has a smooth delivery and overall energy, check out this new track from Dashiell Le Francis. The lyrics have snippets of imagery that invite the listener into the song much like a Tom Petty style track. The production layers give the overall style a bit of a surrealist vibe at times. The overall mood is sure to win over a lot of fans who like that careful blend of a style that’s good “in the background” but also carries meaning if you lean in and listen closely.
