Dom Louis – “Send your loving”
-Something about a clear electric guitar captures my attention right at the beginning of a song. Then the vocal enters this wonderful track and Dom Louis suddenly becomes an artist that I need in my playlists. There’s an energy to the song that is about love, of course, but the coolness in the composition makes it quite approachable. When the track transitions to a bit more of a soulful croon, it goes from good to great. Everything about this song from the vocal to the melody to the production all works well. This one is a treat.
Tom Mackell – “Restless Heart (acoustic)”
-When I first heard this track I thought “wow, that’s a really good mandolin part.” Then, the more I listened, I enjoyed the vocals and the energy as well. It’s a genre mashup of sorts with aspects of poppy Americana with… folksy elements as well. If you’re looking for a song with meaningful, emotional lyrics and an open, energetic melodic style, give Tom Mackell a shot. I think a lot of us can relate to having a restless heart, even if it’s not a romantic sentiment. Finding direction in our historical moment can feel like an impossible challenge. Thanks to Tom Mackell for helping put words and melody to something I was feeling pretty deep down inside.
Wrabel – “london (with cam)”
-When I look for singer songwriters to support, this is the sound I’m hoping to find. I mean, not this specific song, but this type of music. Wrabel’s vocal clarity is evident from the start. You can hear every expressive word of the song. The sense of space grows and develops throughout the song. It sounds and feels like movement. That’s really difficult to explain, but if you just close your eyes gently and listen to the song you can hear it. By the way, the duo vocalist (cam) is also exceptional. These two definitely are able to make some magnificent music; I could listen to a duo like this on repeat. This is a beautiful singer songwriter song that could have a home in pop radio if it was given a shot.
