Three energizing Americana tracks

Brett Fromson – “Pillowcase Blues”
-There are a lot of different versions of Americana out there, so when we look for this genre we get a wide range of styles. This up tempo banjo style track immediately stood out from the crowd. The elements of classic bluegrass helps to give the track an energetic style that propels it nicely. It feels both old fashioned and brand new all at once. Fromson’s vocal quality certainly sets the sound apart from much of the genre (in a good way).

Charles Wesley Godwin – “Lyin low”
-I only recently heard about Godwin, so I was eager to hear our first submission from him. Whew! This is the real deal. Charles Wesley Godwin has a 19th century name that fits perfectly well with the classic early 20th century lyrical theme. There’s a depth to this sound that feels as deep as the mines he sings about. In a world with so much performative “authenticity” it’s incredibly rewarding to listen to the guitars, fiddles, and vocals of this genuine recording. Godwin’s writing meets incredible production on one of the best Americana tunes I’ve heard in 2021.

Mike Fuller – “Two Rivers”
-If you’re a fan of a kind of “classic rock” like a band in the vein of Creedence Clearwater Revival, then you’ll find a lot to like about the rock-flavored Americana of Mike Fuller. The lead vocal is expressive, rooted, and genuine. The guitar riff at the core of the track is rewarding every time the listener gets to hear it. This is the kind of tune that makes me want to go to the pool hall and rack em up with the boys… and wash it down with a cold one. Everything from the bluesy guitar work to the lyrics longing to be with a lover feels right. It’s a vibe and we dig it.
