Two neoclassical pieces to bring in a bright new year

Denise Young – “Ballerina”
-There’s a lot going on with this piece. The piano takes center stage, but the violin provides some delightful accents. The whole composition feels like a beautiful blend of cinematic backdrop and featured string work. The whole sound is soothing, perfect for meditating on the coming year.

Mr. PianoMan – “Within the mist”
-This piece is exactly what I think of when I talk about neoclassical to other people. It’s got a tender, expressive piano part that soothes and heals. It’s clear that the sentiment of the composer is gentle and nurturing for this piece. I am surprised at how mesmerizing the composition is when you clear your mind of distraction and really focus in on this work.
