Kate Bee is a writer from New York who went to college to study counseling psychology and currently spends her days playing with children in Cleveland, Ohio. She does not enjoy crossword puzzles, nail polish, or wearing shoes; but takes great pleasure in cooking delicious vegan food, climbing on rocks, and painting with all of the colors of the wind. She prefers to be outside whenever possible, climbing, swimming, hiking, and generally adventuring. She is not too particular about genre of music, but finds certain niches where she finds herself most at home. She never gets sick of Old Crow Medicine Show, Olof Arnalds, Beethoven, Cats in Boots, or Cake.

Featured Artist–Ashley Raines and the New West Review

Ashley Raines–I’ve spent the last week being charmed by this rugged gentleman’s voice.  I wish I was a musician instead of a writer so that I could sing all about what makes his work magical, but I am no musician so I will …

Bonus–more thoughts on Simon and the Bande A Part.

Simon VanGend is a writer.  He’s a musician too, but he’s a writer.  He’s a poet who just happens to sing, and play, and collaborate very well.  “Blinking and Breathing” is VanGend’s fourth full-length album.  On top of that, he is doing …

Juliana’s Daughter – Lions+Tigers+Bears – Beautiful, sweet singer-songwriter album seeks to understand love, life, and innocence

I ate a cupcake last week that was not for the faint of heart. It was easily the most wonderful cupcake I’d ever had. Light, fluffy, vanilla-strawberry cake with a huge swirl of champagne, butter-cream frosting on top, a sprinkling of glittery vanilla …

Mosey West – Bermuda – Vibrant and intriguing psychedelic folk country rock music

I have heard many unique bands. We live in a world where music can be an experiment. They’re crisscrossing all of the genres making things like country/rap, and bollywood/big band. Sometimes this is a mess that no one asked for. Other times it …

Guest Review: Kate Logsdon on The Lonely Heartstring Band

Boston has shared one of her gems with us. The Lonely Heartstring Band is comprised of five men who love banjos, bluegrass, and The Beatles–those things brought them together and fuel their music. Several of the tracks on their self-titled EP are covers …
