Starpainter – “Low-hanging fruit”
-If you’re a fan of rock-influenced country-leaning music, you’ll find a lot to like from this alt country tune straight from Starpainter. The easygoing energy of the track stood out to me right away. The bluesy effect from the guitar and piano work together well to set the stage for the vocal. The instrumentation creates a nice basis for an emotional payoff on the chorus. It’s not too far out there to put these guys in the same class as a rock band like Dawes. I definitely appreciate the lyrical appeal to be with someone despite not feeling quite sufficient to be the one. Like I said it’s a blues tune… and it feels every bit a rock-informed blues track. Give it a spin, friends.
