Three new Americana tracks we hope you’ll appreciate as much as we do

Arran Fagan – “Could you carry me?”
-If you put Jason Isbell and Jeffrey Martin in a room for a co-write, they’d probably produce something like this track from Arran Fagan. Now that’s pretty high praise for me since I believe those artists are two of the greatest living songwriters. It’s also not hyperbole. The folk core of the song is excellent and the lyrics are captivating. It’s a love song, sure, but it’s got a complementarian perspective to it that is really rare in society let alone a song. It’s beautifully written and performed, presenting a wonderful message with grace.

Tanner Usrey – “Take me home”
-The opening vocal line on this track is good, but that first electric guitar riff is outstanding. The most evident comparison are artists like Tyler Childers and Jason Isbell. We’re definitely fans of a sound like this. If you’ve ever been out and met someone that you wanted to take you home, this song will resonate. It’s a fantasy and a dream, but it’s definitely a relatable lyrical concept. The verses are good, but the chorus is really where this track soars. It’s right on that Americana/country line and it shows off some fantastic guitar chops. I dig this one for sure.

We Are All Fossils – “Home grown flowers”
-There’s a soft acoustic tone at the heart of this song. The vocal comes through with an embedded style right in the middle of the mix. It’s a rooted sound that reminds me a bit of 90s country in the vein of Randy Travis. The composition includes some strings in the background that harken back to the earlier Nashville Sound of popular country music. All told, the blending of sounds and dreamy lyrics work together to make a sound that is sure to be appealing to a lot of Americana fans who miss the good old days of what used to be called country music.
