Three exciting new indie rock tracks that will put three new bands on your rock-loving radar

Beach of Diamonds – “Forget-Me-Not”
-There’s an energetic style to this track that stands out right away. The drum beat is infectious, allowing the listener to really feel the hard driving rhythmic style. The lyrical message reminds me of early 2000s pop punk that gets the listeners singing along. The vibes on this are a bit pop rock, yet that doesn’t mean that it’s overly commercialized; there’s still an edge to the sound that makes you feel like they’d play some pretty sweet venues. Beach of Diamonds sound like a band with great harmonies, solid percussion, and timeless power chords that would be amazing to experience live.

Beauty Mountain Rd – “Same Old Same”
-There’s a complexity to the guitar work on this song that makes it feel like a different beast right from the start. The energetic percussive style definitely cuts through the track as well, making for an energetic punk-influenced style of indie rock. There’s something really satisfying about the main guitar riff that gives it that “devil may care” true rock n’ roll spirit. There are sounds here that flash back to the roots of the genre with bands like the Rolling Stones or Doors, all the way up to this grungy forward momentum more like something you’d hear from a band like Savage Garden. The versatility in the sound is far from the “Same Old Same,” bringing a unique spin (and some gnarly effects) on the guitars and the punctuated vocal delivery. This is an impressive track!

The Whiles – “Hummingbird”
-If you’re looking for a style of rock that captures classic energy from the 60s all the way up to a modern production polish. The vocal harmonies sit back in the mix a bit, creating a truly unique texture to the sound. The sound could have been more conventional like a modern version of a Beatles track, but they seem to have intentionally tweaked the production mix to make it have its own character. I dig that a lot. Something about the echo vocals alongside some clever guitar riffs in the margins make it feel like a genuinely satisfying alt rock track. In a move that defies categorization in the best way possible, I am definitely glad to include this track among our own indie rock playlist.
