Kash’d Out – “King of the Coop” ft. Tropidelic
-This might not be the genre you expect to hear when you click on a (predominantly) folk blog, but trust me when I say this track is OUTSTANDING. The production is fantastic. The bass hits nice and hard, the melody soars, and the lyrics are clever. I mean, animal puns with a collective metaphor about striving and success… resolved into a sentiment that “everything is a-okay.” Yes! This is such a brilliant summary of coming of age and then settling into your identity. You strive and strive until you finally just realize who you are. There’s a satisfaction and joy to this track that resonates deeply in my core. Also it is a danceable as heck… just don’t do the chicken dance. 😉
