Old Neon – “Nobody’s Burden”
-If you’re looking for an up tempo pop punk style track, definitely give this one a spin. I feel like the comps are pretty straightforward with artists like Sum41 and Jimmy Eat World. The guitar work on this track is actually fantastic. The vocals are soaring, just like a vintage pop punk sound ought to. This is a sound that makes me feel about 20 years younger and ready to hang out with my friends again. “With or without you by my side…” is such a good line, too. It rolls off the tongue and gets at that sense of “take it or leave it” feeling after the end of a relationship (especially a toxic one). This is a great “moving on” song!
Sven Ormen – “Lift Me Up”
-If you’re looking for more of a chilled out rock style, definitely check out Sven Ormen’s new track “Lift Me Up.” It’s about that feeling of being down and having a friend (or partner) who can lift you up. It’s romantic in a sense, but it’s also just a chill groove that’s sure to stand out. In a world with so much rock that’s meant to create aggressive tension, it’s nice to just vibe out with a song like this. If you’re blessed to have a partner who lifts you up on your bad days, this song will resonate. The snappy energy on the chorus is almost guaranteed to get you groovin’ in your chair (c’mon… it can’t just be me). It’s a bop.
