Three excellent singer songwriters that you’ll be glad to have on your playlist

Alanna Matty – “Restless”
-If you’re a fan of acoustic driven singer songwriters, you’ll like this new song from Alanna Matty. The clarity on the vocal is outstanding. The narrative feels comfortable and relatable if you’ve ever been restless. When the production calms to a quieter part and Matty’s vocal can really shine through, it’s a beautiful bit of dynamics. The song feels like an emotional, seeking anthem in the best way. It’s definitely for fans of the Lilith Fair movement from the 90s. It’s a sound that works well.

Solly – “Candlelight”
-There’s a chill vibe to this song that feels like it takes the best of about three different genres and links them all together. It feels like folk, singer songwriter, and even a dash of pop. Together, the sound feels like spending time with a good friend. The rhythm is rich, the vocals are warm and comfortable, but what I like most is how it all blends together so seamlessly. The image of the flickering candlelight as you make the decision to leave… is visceral, meaningful, and feels right. I appreciate the snazzy pop elements that dance around this emotionally rich message.

Wax Owls – “The Waiting Room”
-Every once in a while, I click on a song that is an instant “YES.” This song felt like that right away. Obviously the harmonies are my favorite part, but I could tell even before they entered that the track was going to soar. I’m not entirely sure the genre convention or how to feel about the lyrics, but I just like the way the song resonates. It’s a track that has a resonating sound that seems greater than the sum of its parts and I’m more than happy to support this one.
