A pair of throwback country tunes that will make you wonder what year it is

Effy Harvard – “Her Boots”
-From the first time I clicked play on this track, I was hooked. I said in my initial response to the artist that it reminds me of a Kitty Wells tune. The expressive lines are both humorous and full of meaning. It’s an anthemic style that someone like Dolly Parton would surely appreciate. It makes several hat tips to past iconic country artists. The clever writing is highlighted by some classic country instrumentation from electric guitars to piano and a little bit of slide in the background. The full sound will have you tapping your toes and smiling ear to ear listening to this classic tune from a classic vocalist.

Denitia – “Gettin’ Over”
-We’ve featured the immensely talented Denitia in the past and it’s great to have her back. The guitar work is absolutely fantastic and the vocal is in the same league. The toe-tapping classic country energy will make you think of old time honky tonk music. The lyrics are about how frustrating it is to follow the “grind” all the time, being destroyed by the challenges of day to day work life. If you’ve ever been frustrated and wanted to “leave it all behind,” this song is for you. It’s a great tune from a talented rising star in the Americana genre.
