A pair of creative, soulful new tunes that keep classic 20th century music alive

Lisa Crawley – “Hey You”
-I fell for this song on absolute first listen. The production is outstanding, the vocal to die for, and the beat is infectiously interesting. The way the electric guitars sing on this song is on another level, seriously. The tone on Crawley’s vocal is nothing short of Adele-esque in places. The smoky vibes in some places will make you think jazz lounge as much as pop concert hall; all told this is fantastic piece of songwriting with vibes for a wide range of playlists. Also, if you listen to the lyrics, there’s a sort of mid-century Rollingstones mood that I really appreciate. This is a killer, underrated track well worth your time.

HaydenGoSeek – “Thrown Away”
-If you’re looking for a song with a fantastic groove and some excellent writing, give this track from Aussie artist HaydenGoSeek a spin. It feels like a comfortable blend of funky beat, island chill, and cool pop vocals that is absolutely endearing. The chord progression on the chorus is exceptionally well done. The emotional moments in the track feel like a classic yacht rock song and it, frankly, deserves to be widely shared all over the world. It’s got all the makings of a hit song and demands the attention of a broad listenership. If I ran a radio station, I’d play this song every hour. It’s such a feel good tune for anyone who knows what it’s like to love… and be rejected… and rebound from it.
