Zoe Boekbinder – “Mycelium”
-Sometimes a song comes along that absolutely surprises you; that happened with me when I found “Mycelium.” I found it particularly interesting as I have recently been learning more about natural medicine and energy. The timing of this song could not have been more perfect for me. I appreciate the musicality, the message, and… well, the energy of the song. You can feel the sincerity of the track, which is more than the sum of its parts. It has elements of folk and rock for a song that provides hope and positive vibes to anyone who listens. Does anyone really die? Great question!
Emma Geiger – “All Your Words”
-If you’re a fan of acoustic folk singer songwriters, give this track a spin. Geiger writes with a Laurel Canyon style of folk sincerity that emerges as the genuine article. The orchestral element to the recording certainly gives it a unique flavor, setting the mood for the listener to just sit back and melt into the song. It’s a cool, emotional bit of songwriting. It’s the kind of folk music that will help you relax and get lost in the ethereal elements of the song.
Sarah Michelle Lee – “The Whole Sea”
-From the first time I clicked play on this song, I felt like there was some sort of beautiful atmospheric energy that made it stand out. In a world with a lot of folk music, it takes something special to emerge and Lee has that in this track. The genre bending style and quality vocal make it work really well. The calming folk energy does a nice job of inviting the listener into the easy going style on this one.
