Three dynamic and outstanding new Americana tunes that will all find a way to your playlist (and your heart)

Eli Fox – “Mark Twain”
-I’ve been a fan of Mark Twain’s clever wit as long as I can remember. I dare say that Samuel Clemens himself would enjoy this track. It’s got a banjo, a lyric about a river, and a reference to Hanibal, Missouri in the opening stanza; we’re on solid ground here, folks. Twain was known for his witty writing and incisive commentary on life. Fox writes well within that tradition, with this syrupy Americana sound that feels thoroughly rooted in traditional sounds (steel guitar, yee haw!), with a deeply lyrical sensibility driving the tune. This is a great Americana track that perfectly blends the past and the present in a wonderfully rich tapestry.

Wildie – “Lines”
-Every once in a while I hear a sound that’s so perfect for a genre that it stops me in my tracks. Wildie has an Americana flavor that I just can’t help but love. The lead vocalist has an expressive tone that feels like a country singer blended with a pop singer in just the right balance. The energy of the guitar work keeps the track moving along with elements that seem simultaneously blues and country influenced. The style is such a seamless integration of styles that it invites the listener into a comfortable connection with the relatable lyrics. Something about it feels both nostalgic and brand new. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do; this one feels familiar in the best way.

Noah Proudfoot – “Special Kind of Light”
-This song hits you emotionally right from the start. The “bah bah” harmonies are just delightful. Once the lead vocal enters balanced with a delicate acoustic guitar, the style feels like a hot cup of coffee on an autumn morning. There’s such a sweet, approachable style that’s sure to win over a lot of fans. The lyrics have a romantic mood to them about the importance of wanting to be with someone after getting to know them fully. It’s romantic and charming. If you found a person who has a “special kind of light” to them, you will certainly enjoy this track. My wife of 17 years has a “special kind of light,” so I feel this one quite intimately.
