Aaron Rizzo – “Florence Again”
-The quality of the production on this track is absolutely outstanding. The lyrics are about the dream of being with someone and naming their daughter Florence. There’s a dreamlike energy to the way the vocal blends in the production mix. The melody has a wonderful lightness to it. I keep thinking of words like dreamy and floating… which seems to be the vibe the song is going for. If you’ve ever daydreamed about being with someone and imagined a life with them, this song is for you. It’s intoxicatingly romantic, so be ready for that.
Nina June and Emily James – “Your Surrender”
-We’ve covered Emily James many times and even interviewed her, so it was easy for us to take interest in this track. But let me tell you… this is an exceptional piece of songwriting. This is what folk pop music is all about. The careful writing works well with both the melody as well as the exceptional production quality. The piano work keeps the track moving along while the narrative lyrics pull the listener in on this one. The relatable emotional aspect of the lyrics on the chorus is sure to stand out for a lot of listener. If you’ve ever been in a dedicated, long term relationship this song will feel familiar. It’s beautiful.
