Lily Moore – “Summer”
-The easy comp for Lily Moore’s vocal is Adele. No, that’s not a misprint. She really sounds like Adele! This song has a pop energy that is sure to find a wide supportive audience. The rhythm is moving, energetic, and satisfying. The lyrics are perfect for a light hearted summer “fling.” There’s a lot of self awareness to the lyrical message. The inflection that Moore has on the chorus is really impressive, practically begging listeners to sing along. Look, I’m not saying that I can belt out the chorus like a diva… but… I mean… it’s a really good chorus! 🙂
Magz – “The memory”
-From the first time I clicked play on this song, I knew I was going to like it. There’s something gentle and sweet about the style that appealed to me right away. The lyrics are confessional, open, and intimate. Once the electronic atmospheric elements enter on the chorus, the song has a chills-inducing quality to it. If you ever had someone that you dreamed with (romantically or otherwise), this song will definitely connect. If you ever imagined a future together but it didn’t exactly pan out that way, this song is made for you. The layered vocal elements and careful use of resonance makes for textures and layers that are deeply satisfying. The balance between “light” musical elements and “heavy” lyrics makes for a perfect commercial pop hit that’s sure to appeal to a lot of listeners.
