Shay Obray – “Forget me not”
-This was the type of song that I liked from the beginning, but it continued to grow the more I listened. The lead vocal is expressive and familiar. One of the things I love about the song (and, to be fair, was in the song’s pitch) is that it has elements of pop punk mixed with folk songwriting style. It’s a match made in my music taste heaven and it absolutely works here. Obray brings just the right amount of angsty energy to the song with the guitars and a charming vocal style that captures exactly what it’s like to be in that late-teen life stage. I never could have written a song like this, but I have felt many of the emotions expressed with both the music and the lyrics on this captivating new pop punk track.
