Featured Single: Pop punk jam “Nightlife” by Familiar Things

Familiar Things – “Nightlife”
-For old punk rockers of certain age *ahem*, we remember when punk rock actually was on the radio. It’s a genre that has had a fascinating pattern of evolution from being socially outcast to being on prime time television. Familiar Things capture the best of what makes pop punk so enjoyable. The harmonies are great, allowing the listener to sing along. The song captures a nostalgic sense of being with someone, dizzy and slurred in “reverie.” The line “the good times they are killing me” is really powerful. While it can be easy to look back at partying life with rose-colored glasses, this track reminds us to be a bit more modest in our recollections of those moments. Great song with a mature message.
