Holden Miller – “Dopamine”
-The songwriting on this track is wonderful. Each line rolls into the next with a great smoothness and comfortability that I really appreciate. The lyrics are… um… very disturbingly personal. I would guess a lot of us are in the position mentioned here, a bit too focused on our screens and not living our lives enough. But what I find remarkable about the song is how easy going the melody is as it allows the lyrics to really connect with the listener. The key lyric “but that’s not me,” recognizes that he needs to detox from all of the screens and addictions to really enjoy things like getting sunshine and vitamins. It’s great.
