Three energizing tracks bringing together elements of rock, folk, and pop music

Paden – “Coast of your heart”
-As a former trumpet player, I am a sucker for well-placed horns in a track. If that track also has a folk heart and a rock beat, consider me sold. Paden have created the kind of song that makes me smile from ear to ear. The lyrics have a nice folksy narrative, complete with a solid range of emotions. The track overall feels like an adventure. The rising dynamics on the chorus make it so listeners feel compelled to sing along. It’s a windows-down, music-up, cruise-all-dang-summer-long kind of song.

Caregiver – “Wash”
-When I found this song, I had one of those “drop everything” reactions. If you click play on it, you’ll hear why. It’s got this chill, understated vibe, yet at the same time it commands your attention. It reminds me, in an odd way, of how I felt when I first heard Scoobert Doobert. It’s all about the smooth groove and the endearing energy here. It’s like “Wash” was made for people to just vibe out and forget about the world. I am going to guess the lyrics are about utilizing substances to alter consciousness, but hey maybe it’s about reading a good book or a refreshing glass of water. I’ll leave the interpretation up to you. One thing I can say for sure… this track is chill as heck.

Lostboycrow – “Angelina”
-If you’re looking for an up tempo rock vibe with some absolutely soaring vocals, check out Lostboycrow’s latest “Angelina.” I have often joked that a song with a woman’s name is either a love song or a heartbreak song. There’s really no middle ground. This one is an infatuation anthem more along the lines of a “love song.” If you’ve ever had someone that you obsessively think about and can’t wait until the next time you’ll see them, this track will relate. There’s a fusion of rock styles here, but what I like most about it is that it keeps moving, has some nice guitar work, and you can feel the emotion of each vocal line. The production really pops in that regard.
