Friends to the site and generally great guys Mainland are hot off an extraordinary EP and are due for a killer debut full-length later this year. The boys have been touring like crazy and have been debuting the track “Beggars” which the guys were super excited about when we got to sit down with them in the spring (seriously, read it here). An uplifting jam with the much needed “Don’t Stop, Don’t Give Up” refrain, the song showcases what makes the band an up and coming indie giant. Relentless bass, optimistic and thoughtful vocals, and a sound that rivals contemporaries like Cold War Kids and Spoon, the tune is a must hear.
Lead singer Jordan Topf talks about how he found inspiration from the New York subway system for the new song; “I was just looking at all of the people on the subway and thinking about how I fit into all of that. . . I wanted to sing to people that are maybe doubting their dreams.”
The band are some of the most energetic and down to earth guys we have found recently. They are underdogs who are easy to root for and we cannot recommend their new cut enough. Enjoy, and while you are at it, download their Outcast EP.
