Here are some wonderful holiday songs that we found and wanted to share with you all for the season. The end of the year is a busy time for us organizing lists, conducting interviews, and getting everything set up for another year of music coverage. Enjoy these tunes from some of our friends and enjoy the holiday season with those you love.
Lennon and Maisy – Silent Night
-Even though these young ladies have “arrived” in country music, their authentic style seems to transcend all that is the great Nashville machine. Here they fill the halls of the Tennessee State Capitol with incredible harmonies and near-angelic vocals.
Josh Turner – Let It Snow
-Friends of our site have heard Josh Turner many times. He continues to impress with layers of excellent arrangements and a wide variety of styles. Here he provides a holiday classic in a bucolic setting. Doing it all himself, Josh gives us a lot to look forward to in his burgeoning music career. It’s pretty amazing when a great singer can have the best part of his song be the guitar solo! So much talent in one young man.
Mark Martel – O Come O Come Emmanuel
-Mark earned a subscriber on this one. I have always loved this hymn and he brought a mix of “fresh take” and “classic reverence” to it. His vocal range is pretty stunning on this song. He’s beyond a tenor and didn’t waste any time keying it down. It’s a wonderful performance.
