Fact: Nashville’s main export is good music.
Another great singer/songwriter from Nashville, Corey Kilgannon released his latest EP Hospital Hymns, which has received great reviews. Kilgannon has been noted as one of the biggest up-and-coming acts out of Nashville.
The five-track EP is a mix of lyrically intense and breathy vocals, with a beautiful backdrop of soft guitar chords. Kilgannon says the goal of the EP is “to cause people to take a minute to think about what they believe, why they believe it, and to be ok with not understanding the world.”
Kilgannon’s latest video for “Soft Gentle Brilliant” has received a lot of praise from viewers and features a melodic appearance from The Red Headed Indian. Her voice, several octaves higher and uniquely serene, complements Kilgannon’s fluid and soothing harmonies. At times, the duet reminded me of a stripped down version of Head and the Heart.
